Have you ever wished you could press a reset button after a long week?

You know the feeling: your shoulders are tense, your mind keeps racing, and your to-do list seems to grow by the minute. Sometimes, what you need isn't another cup of coffee or a weekend spent catching up on chores. You simply need time to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself.

Combining gentle bodywork with the aromas of essential oils, Raindrop Therapy offers a calming experience for people who want to unwind, recharge, and make more room for rest.

What Is Raindrop Therapy?

Raindrop Therapy was introduced by Young Living in the 1980s as an approach that combines aromatherapy with light-touch bodywork. Its name comes from the way essential oils are applied: drops fall from several inches above the back, much like gentle raindrops.

The experience is inspired by nature's ability to help us feel restored and renewed. Just as fresh rain can change the atmosphere outdoors, a quiet session filled with comforting aromas and caring touch can offer a welcome change of pace.

Raindrop Therapy is a complementary wellness service intended to support relaxation. It is not a medical treatment and should not be used as a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional.

What Happens During a Session?

During your 90-minute session, essential oils are applied along the back using a light, feathering touch. Your practitioner incorporates gentle massage techniques to create a soothing, nurturing experience.

Warm towels are placed over the back as part of the session, allowing you to settle more deeply into relaxation while enjoying the oils' aromas. Because the blend includes several distinctive herbal scents, some clients jokingly say the combined aroma reminds them of pizza!

Raindrop Therapy uses much lighter pressure than deep-tissue or therapeutic massage. If your primary goal is intensive muscle work or treatment of a specific area of discomfort, another massage service may be a better fit.

How Clients Describe the Experience

Everyone responds differently, but clients often describe Raindrop Therapy as deeply comforting—as though someone pressed their personal reset button.

After a session, clients may feel:

  • Calm and deeply relaxed

  • Refreshed after a mentally demanding week

  • More grounded and emotionally centered

  • Comforted by the aromas and gentle touch

  • More connected to themselves after making time for self-care

Some people also notice a temporary sense of physical ease after carrying everyday tension from desk work, travel, or the demands of work and family life. These experiences are personal and should not be interpreted as guaranteed health outcomes.

Raindrop Therapy Aftercare

Following your session, give yourself time to rest and notice how you feel. Drinking water and keeping the remainder of your day relatively gentle may help extend the relaxing experience.

Your practitioner will provide aftercare guidance based on the oils and products used during your appointment. Ask when it is appropriate to shower and whether you should temporarily avoid heat, strenuous exercise, or direct sunlight.

If you develop burning, significant redness, a rash, breathing difficulty, or another concerning reaction, remove the product as directed and seek appropriate medical assistance. Do not assume that feeling ill or "feverish" is a normal part of the experience.

Is Raindrop Therapy Right for You?

Raindrop Therapy may appeal to you if you enjoy:

  • Gentle massage

  • Aromatherapy

  • Quiet, restorative wellness experiences

  • Light-touch bodywork

  • Intentionally setting aside time to relax

Because it is a lighter experience, it may not be the right choice if you prefer firm pressure or want focused work for persistent muscle tension.

Please talk with us before booking if you:

  • Are pregnant or nursing

  • Are younger than 16

  • Have sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, open wounds, or an active rash

  • Have allergies or previous reactions to essential oils, fragrances, or massage products

  • Have asthma, another respiratory condition, or sensitivity to strong aromas

  • Take medication or have a health condition that could affect whether topical essential oils are appropriate for you

We can review the products used in the session and help determine whether this service is suitable for you. If you are uncertain, consult your healthcare professional before scheduling.

Give Yourself Permission to Pause

Life doesn't always give us permission to slow down—but we can choose to give that gift to ourselves.

Raindrop Therapy is about more than essential oils or technique. It is an opportunity to create space to breathe, relax, and simply be.

Sometimes, the smallest things—a quiet room, caring hands, and the gentle touch of fragrant "raindrops"—can make a meaningful difference in how we experience our day.

Raindrop Therapy at Resolution is a 90-minute session ($160). Ready to press that reset button? Book online or call (608) 665-0392 with questions about whether Raindrop Therapy is right for you.
